{"id":24286,"date":"2022-06-29T11:56:17","date_gmt":"2022-06-29T09:56:17","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.andbank.com\/andorra\/presentacion-la-segunda-edicion-del-andorra-multisport-festival\/"},"modified":"2022-07-02T17:52:06","modified_gmt":"2022-07-02T15:52:06","slug":"presentation-of-the-second-andorra-multisport-festival","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.andbank.com\/andorra\/en\/presentation-of-the-second-andorra-multisport-festival\/","title":{"rendered":"Presentation of the second Andorra Multisport Festival"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Escaldes-Engordany, 30 May 2022.<\/p>\n<p>The second Andorra Multisport Festival, organised by the Ironman group and the Government and sponsored by Andbank, will involve 3,338 athletes, almost twice as many as last year, who will compete in the different events held around the country between 24 June and 3 July.<\/p>\n<p>During the presentation held yesterday at Andbank\u2019s headquarters and attended by the parishes of Andorra la Vella, Ordino, Sant Juli\u00e0 de L\u00f2ria and La Massana as the event\u2019s partners, Agust\u00ed P\u00e9rez, Ironman\u2019s regional director for southern Europe, explained that 70 per cent of those enrolled are new entrants, with 20 per cent of them women and 80 per cent men. In addition, there will be participants from 31 nationalities and more than 500 people, including the staff and volunteers, who will help to organise the event. The Minister of the Presidency, Economy and Enterprise, Jordi Gallardo, declared that \u201cit\u2019s a really important project for us\u201d and added that \u201cthe competitions held in Andorra are regarded as the toughest on the international stage; we set ourselves this challenge at the outset and I\u2019m sure that we\u2019ll have even harder routes this year\u201d. Beyond the events set to be based in the different parishes, the epicentre will continue to be the Central Park in Andorra la Vella, where a small stadium with giant screens will be set up to enable the spectators to watch the events.<\/p>\n<h2>THE RACES<\/h2>\n<p><strong>Andorra 21 ports<\/strong><br \/>\n24-26 June Andorra la Vella<br \/>\n150 entrants<\/p>\n<p>The road cycling race will have three stages and a total of 300 kilometres, with a climb of 8,380 metres over the three days. The participants will reach the summits of Envalira, Els Cortals d\u2019Encamp, Beixal\u00eds, Arcal\u00eds, Cab\u00fas and La Gallina. The starting and finishing line will be in the capital\u2019s Central Park.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Trail 100<\/strong><br \/>\nAndorra by UTMB<br \/>\n24-26 June Ordino<br \/>\n1,800 entrants<\/p>\n<p>The main new feature will be the merging of the Trail 100 Andorra with UTMB (Ultra Trail del Montblanc), which will mean an exponential increase in the number of participants from 800 to 1,800. With its epicentre in Ordino\u2019s main square, there will be four races covering 105, 50, 21 and 7.5 kilometres.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Andorra MTB Classic-Pyrenees<\/strong><br \/>\n29 June-2 July La Massana<br \/>\n560 entrants<\/p>\n<p>La Massana will be the epicentre of mountain biking in the country with this team race involving four tough days (a prologue and three stages) covering a total of 170 kilometres with a 5,260-metre climb.
