Andbank donates 152,000 euros to CRIS Cancer Foundation through its SIGMA Global Sustainable Impact (GSI) fund

Madrid, 14 February 2020.

Andbank, an institution specializing in private banking, has donated a sum of 151,819 euros to the CRIS Cancer Foundation through means of its SIGMA Global Sustainable Impact (GSI) fund, following the completion of its first year of existence. This fund, which makes investments following ESG guidelines, donates 100% of its success bonuses and 9% of its management commission to this Foundation, whose main goal is to promote and fund research projects for treating and curing cancer.

Sigma Global Sustainable Impact (GSI), based in Luxembourg, is a multi-asset equity fund which aims to generate a direct positive impact through its investments, as well as a social impact by allocating part of its management commission towards funding cancer research projects.

The fund has been awarded the maximum Morningstar Sustainability Rating. This rating assesses the quality of the companies that are included in the fund in terms of risk management and responsible investment opportunities in comparison with similar funds.

According to Carlos Aso, CEO of Andbank Spain, “GSI’s launch in 2019 shows that we are integrating sustainable criteria into the development of our business and that this is a fundamental aspect of our institution’s philosophy.”

For her part, Marta Cardona, director of the CRIS Cancer Foundation, stated that, “support such as that given by Andbank allows us to continue pushing forward in our fight against this illness, as the only way to stop cancer is by investing in research. The funds raised will go towards the new CRIS Immuno-Oncology Unit at the Hospital 12 de Octubre, a pioneer in Spain.”

Cancer research is the main focus of Andbank’s corporate social responsibility strategy. On top of its support for the CRIS Cancer Foundation, the institution also actively works with the Fero Foundation and the SJD Paediatric Cancer Centre.
