Andorra, 17 February 2020.

Andbank’s asset management department, which is in charge of managing client assets and is made up of a team of over 40 professionals distributed over 12 countries, has surpassed all previous yielding records in 2019.

According to the latest ranking by the Spanish association of institutions of collective investment and pension funds (INVERCO), three of the Andorran group’s funds are among the highest yielding of last year, and, moreover, two of these are at the top of the ranking.

In particular, Andbank Wealth Management’s Merch-Oportunidades fund registered a record yielding of 74.21 % last year: more than 24 points above the second best fund, which is also managed by Andbank – Merchbanc Sicav Global USD, which had a return of 49.73 %. Furthermore, Merchfondo was ranked in sixth position by INVERCO with a yield of 41.61 %.

As regards Andbank’s SIGMA range, the SIGMA-IH Balanced and Merchbanc-RF Flexible funds have obtained an average of 4 Morningstar stars over the course of 2019 according to the leading provider of independent research in investments. The first is the most successful mixed investment fund of the entity – with a return of 6.8% in 2019 – and covers a whole range of assets. It is characterized by its diversity and market adaptability, and has registered an improved performance over the last 3 years in renowned funds such as Carmignac Patrimoine, Nordea Stable Return and M&G Dynamic Allocation, especially if the risk-adjusted returns (or sharpe ratio) are taken into account. The second assures a fixed income with a very flexible approach, which has allowed it to surpass the bar of 150 million euros in volume, earning a return of 6.03%, which is highly commendable in a context of such low interest rates.

For Sonia Vidal, Andbank Andorra Business Manager, “the record yields of our funds in 2019 prove that our management team are able to maintain and make the assets of our clients grow over time. Our global dimension, which enables us to be present and get to know first hand the developments and trends of the world’s main financial centres, combined with our management team, who are not only highly qualified, committed, rigorous and cautious, but also offer a personal and local service, makes our value proposition unbeatable.”
