Escaldes-Engordany, 12 December 2016. The 4th Christmas Concert by the Cor dels petits cantors del Principat d’Andorra was announced this morning. This event, sponsored by Andbank, will be held on 15 December at the Congress Centre in Andorra la Vella, under the title “No ho entenc”. The concert will begin at 9.00 pm.

Josep M. Cabanes, assistant general manager of Institutional Relations, Pilar Díez, president of the Escola Especialitzada, Catherine Metayer, director of the Petits Cantors and Marta Déu, creator of the storyline for the concert, announced this year’s programme and some novelties for those attending.

Josep M. Cabanes, of Andbank, spoke of the bank’s commitment to society and support for cultural events such as this one, which combine the cultural aspect with solidarity, also being able to collaborate in the School’s various ongoing projects.

For her part, Pilar Díez explained that the concert is a very important action in helping to keep up progress in the School’s projects for the year and that this year it is dedicated to activities in equine-assisted therapy, which began last year. She said she hoped there would be a really good audience on the day of the concert, and she called on adults, children and young people, as it will be an interesting approach to music for everyone.

The director of the Cor dels petits cantors del Principat d’Andorra, Catherine Metayer, announced that the concert this year will be very exciting, “we didn’t want a traditional concert; we wanted the choir to be lively, so we have introduced various novelties, such as dance and an end to the concert with the group of people attended by EENSM”.

Marta Déu, creator of the storyline for the concert, explained that “it is a very touching story, about a child who does not understand much about the absence of his grandfather, all this, clearly, in very simple language”.

This year there will be 50 girls and boys on the stage, accompanied by an instrumental group, and the concert will last for 1 hour fifteen minutes, approximately.

For the songs, there will be a variety from various countries and in different languages and styles. Besides the more traditional carols, there will be some from the musical comedy series “Glee”. Among others the choir will be singing “Les dotze van tocant”, “Santa Claus Is Coming To Town” and the classic “Fum, Fum, Fum”, which will close the show.

The ticket price is 15 euro. Tickets are on sale at the choir office at EENSM, at La Llacuna and at Andbank branches, and can also be bought at the Auditorium on the day of the concert. A ticket is also a chance to win in a raffle for charity which will take place after the concert.

As well as normal seats there will also be a row zero for everyone who cannot come on the day of the concert.
