Escaldes-Engordany, 7 April 2021.

The Andorra Women Trial Team, the country’s first female trial team, has presented the goals set by the team for this second season. Andbank has also confirmed its collaboration as a sponsor for the second year running.

The event was attended by Josep M. Cabanes, Deputy General Manager of Domestic Banking at Andbank, the Secretary of the Moto Club Pirineu; Josep Punti, and the team coach and representative of 4T Motos; Oriol Pi, who all came to the Andbank headquarters in person; along with the team drivers, Lola Gabriel, Aitana Núñez, Laia Pi, Maria Font and Alèxia Lladó, who joined online.

After the excellent results they achieved last year, such as Laia Pi’s first position in the Spanish Championship in the TR2 category and Maria Font’s first position in the Spanish Championship in the TR3 category, the team looks to this season with plenty of drive and has got it off to a great start with some very good results: Aitana Nuñez and Maria Font gained a place on the podium in the Andorran championships, and Alexia Lladó and Laia Pi took first place in several trials in the Catalan championship, among other classifications.

Depending on the evolution of their training and physical preparation, and if the health situation permits, the team’s drivers plan to compete in several championship races in Andorra, the Catalan Championship, the Spanish Championship and, in addition, the World Championship in which Laia Pi will take part.

Josep Punti, Secretary of the Moto Club Pirineu, highlighted that “we can see that we’re developing well, and we want to take part in the major championships.” The team’s coach, Oriol Pi, added that “we see the progress of the young women who have just started as well as the results of the most experienced riders, however, we must continue to work hard to keep attaining our goals.”

Josep M. Cabanes states “it is well known that Andorra has a great motorcycling tradition, it has been around for over 35 years and they have amply demonstrated the magnificent work they have carried out. That’s why we continue to give our support to this team of young riders to extend the biking spirit at all levels.”
