Escaldes-Engordany, 1st March 2023

Today Andbank is presenting a charity concert whose proceeds will go to the oncological wig bank. The presentation was attended by Maria Suárez, Director of Banca País, and Nelly García from the Kerala hairdresser’s and beauty clinic, the manager of the wig bank.

A few months ago, Andbank promoted the creation of the Andorra la Vella charitable wig bank. The demand for this service has increased from the outset, which is why the organisation has sought to promote initiatives to raise funds to obtain more wigs. The bank began with five wigs and it currently lends out ten.

The concert will be held at 8:00 pm on 20th April at the Congress Centre in Andorra la Vella. There will be performances by the singers Agustín and Santi, the voices of the legendary groups Los Diablos and Los Mustang.

Tickets are now on sale on the Commune’s website at andorralavella.ad/entrades and in La Llacuna, from 8:00 am to 3:30 pm from Monday to Friday.

Admission will cost €10 and, thanks to the cooperation of sponsors Andorra Telecom, Caldea, the Commune of Andorra la Vella, Gala, Molines Patrimoni and Yomo Hotels, the proceeds from the tickets will be assigned in full to the wig bank for the purchase of new wigs.

The charitable wig bank service, which is located at the Kerala beauty clinic, is completely free of charge and the wigs are donated to people who, due to chemotherapy treatment, have lost their hair or are about to lose it, following the advice of a professional trained in hairdressing and oncological aesthetics.

According to Maria Suárez, “the organisation is highly committed to the fight against cancer; for a number of years our track record has featured different initiatives and projects designed to contribute to the fight, and we’ll continue to organise actions to collaborate, particularly with the wig bank, a project that helps people undergoing treatment a great deal”.

As for Nelly García, she remarked that “it’s really important to receive a lot of help and support from everyone, as we’re witnessing a lot of demand and each wig and each person is different, so we need material in order to adapt them. Their appearance is vital in ensuring that they remain strong”.
