Andorra, 21 July 2020.

Andbank, for the seventh year in a row, will once again be co-sponsoring the Castell de Peralada Festival. This year, in order to comply with the protocols adopted in response to the COVID-19 health crisis, the festival will be held in a completely different format.

When the festival’s programme had to be cancelled in May, its organizers started working on a different version that would be better suited to the current situation. After redefining the whole thing and considering the activities that could be carried out, the Castell Peralada Festival Livestream was created. This event will be completely free and can be viewed online through the Festival’s website www.festivalperalada.com. It will include concerts as well as talks with the great artists in the line-up.

All the shows of this year’s festival will maintain the same high quality as always. They can be watched free of charge through live streaming. The unbeatable setting of the Medieval complex of the Peralada Castle and, specifically, the Carmen church and walls, will be the stage for performances by this year’s top artists, which will take place between 22 and 31 of July. Flamenco dancer María Pagés, artist Santi Moix, and conductor Josep Pons – will join the Orquestra Simfònica del Gran Teatre – and Alfonso de Vilallonga with the international debut of his album Hors de Saison. Tenor David Alegret, opera singer Carlos Álvarez and composer Cristophe Chassol, are just a few more of the many artists participating in this year’s event. It will also include the virtual participation of Sondra Radvanovsky and the musician Rufus Wainwright, who are regulars at the Festival and, this year, will lead a debate on the figure of the Prima Donna in the operatic world.

Founded in 1987, the Castell de Peralada Festival is one of the cultural events to which Andbank contributes through its support for culture. Its involvement as a co-sponsor allows the entity to bring the festival to its clients and partners in a different way this year. Andbank has pointed out that “this virtual format will uphold the same cultural spirit and stamp of quality that we are used to at the Festival”.
