Following the great success of the last three years, the date of the fourth “La Purito Andorra 2018” cycle race has already been set: Sunday, 5 August.

Andbank will support this great sporting project for the fourth consecutive year, sponsoring the race over the course designed by Joaquim “Purito” Rodríguez for the toughest stage of the 2015 Tour of Spain. The race will follow an extremely difficult route, which cyclists will be able to share with Joaquim “Purito” Rodriguez and other cycling professionals. The demanding nature of the race will attract thousands of fans from up to ten different countries.

The cycling event will be held on Sunday 5 August, retaining the same routes as in previous years: the long 2.5 course, covering 145 kilometres with a positive elevation of 5,200 metres, will begin in Sant Julià de Lòria and then cross the most emblematic and challenging mountain passes in Andorra: Beixalís (1,805 m), Coll de Ordino (1,980 m), La Rabassa (1,820 m), Coll de La Gallina (1,910 m) and La Comella (1,350 m), ending in Els Cortals de Encamp at 2,100m.

The short 3.5 route, which will not pass over Beixalís or Coll de Ordino, will cover a total of 80 kilometres and have a positive elevation of 3,500 metres, while the Mini 1.7 is a third option for anyone who wants to accompany “Purito” Rodríguez and take part in the event. This race will start in Sant Julià de Lòria and go directly to Els Cortals de Encamp after 28 kilometres and a positive elevation of 1,700 metres.

The fourth “La Purito Andorra 2018” cycling event is expected to enjoy the same success as in previous years, with a large turnout of national and international cycling enthusiasts. The race has become well-established as a benchmark for other cycling events.

The period for registration on www.lapurito.com opened on 15 January. More than 1,200 people have entered so far. This year, in view of the participation in previous years, the number of entries will be limited to 2,000.
