Andbank has initiated the project to modernise its ATMs and improve the current transactions, ensuring greater security and simpler processes. The change will be progressively implemented until the first quarter of 2021 and will progressively add new features such as cash deposits and contactless transactions.

Furthering the institution’s technological innovation project so as to provide the very best customer service, two of the aims of this modernisation of the ATM network are to improve the security of the transactions and comply with international regulations.

The new ATMs are also much more efficient than the previous ones, thus minimising energy costs and reducing their environmental impact. With this technological development, Andbank is seeking to provide its customers with maximum flexibility and a streamlined and distinctive service.

The main innovations of the ATMs are as follows:

  • The screens are larger and more tactile, making them clearer and more understandable.
  • Operations can be performed via the screen and will only be printed if necessary.
  • Deposits, which will become available in early 2021, can be made with 10, 20, 50 and 100-euro notes and will enable us to check for counterfeit or suspicious banknotes in accordance with the European regulations.
  • Contactless transactions will be incorporated in the final phase of the project, eliminating the need to enter a card and speeding up the transactions.

Andbank has already upgraded four ATMs, those in the Business Centre, the Fiter i Rossell branch, Plaça Rebés and the Prada Ramon branch.

This modernisation forms part of the project led by Andorran banking to unify all the ATMs in the country adopted last year with the participation of all the banking institutions in order to comply with efficiency and savings criteria. The first ATMs of the shared network became operational in July, with three ATMs installed at 10, Avinguda Consell General in Pas de la Casa, 17-19, Avinguda Verge de Canòlich in Sant Julià de Lòria and 109, Avinguda Carlemany in Escaldes-Engordany.
